Personally, I would say that late spring to early fall is the best time for the drive from Cleveland to Buffalo.
I love this region in late spring because the weather is pleasant and it looks fresh and green. Plus, there are fewer people around.
In summer, of course, there is more energy in the region as the laketowns are active, wineries are open, and you will find more people on the road.

The weather is slightly cool, and the crowd has gone away, so you can enjoy the fall colors all around.

One of the best Cleveland to Buffalo stops that you cannot miss is the James A. Garfield National Historic Site.
At this national park in Ohio, you can learn about the life of President James A. Garfield and more about the time that he lived in.
I love that the house and the grounds are so well preserved to this day.

What I love about this beach in Ohio is that it is wide and open. So, there is plenty of space to walk on the shore.
Plus, it is an easy stop. You can just get down here for a couple of hours, swim in the lake, and then be on your way.
Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse
Another great stop on your Cleveland to Buffalo road trip is the Fair Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse.
It is located near Headlands Beach and is the perfect Great Lakes addition to your trip.

One of my favorite stops on the drive from Cleveland to Buffalo is the Presque Isle State Park.

As a result, there are beaches, walking paths, and several scenic viewpoints for you to enjoy.
If you want a break from the road, then this is the perfect spot to unwind for a couple of hours with your friends and family.
Erie Maritime Museum, Pennsylvania

Here, you can learn about the region’s connection to Lake Erie and the War of 1812.

If you are doing the Cleveland to Buffalo road trip with your family or friends, then stopping at Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort is the perfect choice.
